  • Discretionary Use Notice - 50 Wiley Post Street

    Notice is hereby given that the Town Council of Gander has received a Development Application to utilize the building at the above noted address for the purposes of a warehouse.                     

    It is noted that this area is zoned Commercial General (CG) in the Town of Gander’s Municipal Plan. Light Industry uses are permitted as a Discretionary Use of Council within the Commercial General zone.

    Anyone wishing to make representation on this matter must do so in writing and the representation must be received by the Planning and Public Works Department, Town of Gander, no later than 12:00 noon, Wednesday, February 12, 2025.

  • Viscount Crescent Traffic Advisory - January 28, 2025

    The Town of Gander would like to notify residents of a traffic advisory scheduled for Tuesday, January 28th, from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

    Traffic disruptions will occur at 17 Viscount Crescent to accommodate water infrastructure repair.

    Please note, water services will remain operational during this time.

    We encourage motorists to drive with caution in the area and thank you for your cooperation as we complete these necessary repairs.

  • Town of Gander Welcomes New CAO

    Following an extensive nationwide recruitment process led by advisory firm MC Advisory, the Town of Gander is proud to announce Brad Hefford as our new Chief Administrative Officer.

    Brad has been a key member of our team for the past five years, serving as Town Clerk/Director of Governance and Legislation, where his leadership and expertise have been invaluable. As a lifelong resident of Gander, he brings extensive knowledge, a strong educational foundation, and a deep connection to the community. With a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Dalhousie University and extensive experience in HR, senior leadership with provincial departments, municipal governance, and a number of professional certificates, Brad is exceptionally qualified for this position.

    In his new role, he will oversee municipal operations and work closely with Council and staff to advance the Town’s strategic goals.

    It is noted that this area is zoned Residential High Density-2.  Apartment Building and Residential Care uses are permitted in this zone as a Discretionary Use of Council.

    Anyone wishing to make representation on this matter must do so in writing and the representation must be received by the Planning and Public Works Department, Town of Gander, no later than 12:00 noon, Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
